Cheers Mark , yeah this is a monster i gotta say.....i reckon a foot long nearly, don`t know if my eyes could stand the strain in 1/72 so hats off to you sir Ok......loads done on this but still lots to add, she`ll bulk out a bit shortly Engine built and fitted along with shafts, more small parts added to the chassis (winch roller mounts etc), exhaust finished and etch guard added, fuel tank/air tanks/battery box made and added some nice etch to the deck plates and trailer runs.
Next up will be the huge air cleaner and hydraulic tank, fenders, spare wheel rack, trailer coupling etc.............once thats done it`ll be a case of scoot thru the destructions to make sure i`ve attached everything and then it`s primer time..........then onto the cab
Cheers folks

Mark,Carl and Paul.........thanks gentlemen Ok........lots more done, Engine cowling/radiator/remaining pipe work done.....mudguards/air-cleaner/hydraulic oil tank and pipe-work......spare wheel holder complete and dry fitted (as is the engine cowl btw)..........trailer coupling built and added along with a few small lights.......rear mudguards in place as well..........got to add one more small etch piece and the mount for the air-lines (not included), i`ll have to re-work the air-line mount and scratch the red and blue lines myself.........no big deal. Can`t really fault the kit in any way if i`m honest........anything that has gone t*ts up was self inflicted
Carl...........as a comparison shot.........this is her next to my 1/35th Stude-baker truck
I`ll make a start at putting the head on the snake next
Cheers dudes

Boots, your work on the suspension is just amazing. Well done! Any issues getting the suspension aligned and square up? (BTW.....you are making me want to buy this one too. Such a bad influence).
Best wishes,
Ian

Lol.........sorry Ian , guess thats Pete and you tempted The suspension went together very well..... Here`s a quick explanation that i posted on the previous page (save me typing it all out again ) It`s a great kit with superb detail.......the engine could do with a bit more pazazzz but it`s 99% hidden anyway , don`t get me wrong it has had a few little niggles (mostly self inflicted) but nothing major whatso ever Post by Boots on 23 Feb 2019 at 21:19 Ok chaps......bit the bullet and finished the diffs/shafts/hubs/tyres etc........there`s a couple more bits to add once these are attached to the chassis.......i gotta say it was a pleasure to assemble both theses sets of axles, the clean up was minimal and the fit is excellent, Trumpy have topped it with the poseable front steering system..........the ends of the axle stub have a ball with 3 notches cut out.....these correspond with the 2 recesses on the inside of wheel hub and simply click into place..no glue required , the only advice i would give is remove one of the tiny locking pins that sits inside the middle recess on the ball end of the axle .....you won`t feckin` get them to click into place otherwise....ask me how i know .......once one is removed it fits perfect and won`t come off and is also fully articulate, the diffs are exactly the same where they connect to the suspension arms........all feckin` push fit and i love it , once assembled i sat some weight on it and glued the joins with TETC......left it for an hour or so under weight and this ensured all wheels were gonna be touching down
The only downside to have the articulate steering is you have to lengthen a couple of the linkage arms..........the link arms come pre-set for having them straight , i lengthened mine to allow for the tun in the wheels
