Guy, that mud and snow application is incredibly realistic. This build looks amazing.

Absolutely convincing mud and snow effects AG. It's not a critique, why does the white look finer than the brown coloured mush? Just interested that's all Steve, thank you chap. I always try to catch the look of the reference photos I use. I've spent a lot of time to carefully build up the mush and maybe the camera didn't pick it up that well? I'll see if I can refine the mush anyway. Once the Stug's wheels and tracks are finished and added to it, I re-check from top to dirty bottom. Thanks chaps! Now I'm dirtying the wheels.

And then things went wrong, I got just too over-exited with the snow I think. Please don't ask for pics. It's in the bin already. I hope to move on with another kit from the stash in a while, maybe I'll purchase a other Stug III.

Si I don't know to be honest but I'll try to not to ruin my R35 which I have at the bench now...first a week or so nothing modelling related (besides the search after another Stug).

Oh dear. I would wait a while Guy, you should find a StuG at Affligem and cheaper than on the Net.

Thanks fellas.
Tommy, I was just too excited and applied too much of the snow on the sides, my heart bled a few drops because I put all my love for the hobby in it the past 5 weeks, on a dayly base...however I did learn a lot about the Bose version Stug and now I know how to "wield" the fantastic snow products. I take the experience to my next snowy Stug.
That's the spirit Boots, I tossed it and I know it's a drastic measure but it's my way to walk away from disaster. Btw I saved the unpainted tracks and the wheels, and the unpainted commander. I have no problem with starting this all over, I did it in the past with my Comet tank as well.
Thanks Paul, I'll do that. I can continue with the R35 when I have the colours.

Question about the products you used for future reference:
I take it, the products are not water or thinner soluble, so once applied, they cannot be removed or revamped?

Question about the products you used for future reference: I take it, the products are not water or thinner soluble, so once applied, they cannot be removed or revamped? They are water soluble but once dry they have a rubbery feel to them which makes them almost impossible to remove in nooks and crannies.

That's a real shame but you've done the right thing in calling it dead and moving forward
