That does look tasty buddy, fine work throughout.
Was tempted by the 1/12 but my piggy bank is already empty.
How are you finding parts fit?

Thanks very much Mence, Wout`s and Pete Mence.......put it this way.....it`s not £62`s worth thats for sure, more in the £40 region i`d say. Instructions.....7/10 (a bit hit and miss on placement here and there although easy enough to follow and understand with colour guides) Detail.....8/10 (could have added a few more extras to the engine dept as per the original car) Engine build.....8/10 (fit was a bit of a tussle in getting it in the right place to line up with the shafts, had to do a bit of fettling and friendly persuasion....but do-able.....so i thought!!, it came back to bite me in the arse later!!.......that comes next.. Rear suspension and driveshafts......3/10 (bloody nightmare and that was what was causing it to rock!!, the shafts are a piece of plastic about a CM long with a slight taper on the end to insert into the engine.....barely a MM inserted into the engine itself and it was under so much tension it was forcing the remaining suspension on one side to tilt the caliper!!......i just cut it away and everything was fine after that. Thats about as far as i am with it so can`t comment on the bodywork but after all the dry fits including fitting over the innards it fits lovely. Overall marks to this stage i would give a 7.5/10...........but 9/10 for enjoyment. The issues above may be down to operator error and to be honest easily rectified. You did ask

A 9/10 is a good rating IMHO Boots. I've bought and binned many a 'great' kit as the enjoyment rating was -3/10

Cheers Steve....yeah it`s just silly bits really, as i mentioned...it may be down to me but i always dry fit over and over again so i`m pretty certain it isn`t

Cheers Steve Well...after a slight pause i have plodded about with bits and pices.. The tyres recieved their logo`s......the inner rear hood cover masked and painted Black and Arcadian Blue and the first top coat of Arcadian Blue on the rear engine hood itself........the rear glazing was masked and the Black framework painted as was the small clear air scoop just behind it, i just need to add the lights and then the inner hood liner can be fitted inside the main hood.
This was a first for m regarding Mission Models paint........i`ve always been a die-hard Tam user but i gotta say.......i like these!, a slightly different approach as it does come out quite thin.........i put about 6 coats over the rear hood and smoothed back with a compound cloth between every pass, the result is fabulous to the naked eye.......i just hope i don`t ferk it up when it comes to gloss .
Logo`s...
Inner hood...
Outer main hood in final top coat prior to gloss..
I know the Blue is very pale but is period correct..........i have put a pic up to highlight it better against the White primer
Next i`ll mask the main body ready for top coat and gloss
Cheers all

Damn fine spraying there ole chap . I've used Mission Models Paints, but only for US and German armour . You certainly have to be careful when thinning them .

You put a lot of effort into the painting, and it shows. Well down, Boots. Excellent finish ready for the gloss coat.

Good to see you back at the bench mate. And nice paintage. I'm an avid Tammi/Mr. Hobby guy myself but I must say I'm looking at these MM paints for ages. Still haven't tried them. Glad they worked out nicely for you ^^
