Lightening the tone somewhat ... I'm still trying to find a method for flesh painting on figures that I am happy with. So time for an experiment. Middle Eastern heads from Paul W (aka Red Zebra) base coated with Army Painter Skeleton Bone. Over this I've applied a single coat of Citadel contrast (from L to R) Darkoath Flesh, Fyreslayer Flesh and Guilliman Flesh. I also tried the last one on a european head from Hornet. I'm starting to feel happier with this... just need to master the application of the contrast to minimise the blotchyness.

I'm still trying to get any decent results with my figures to Paul. Looks like you're heading in the right direction

What size brush do you use?
I now use a size 2. It seems counterintuitive but a lot easier to paint with.

Excellent, well done, yes faces are very tricky to paint (even trickier to sculpt :-)

Thank you gents. And another shelf-queen (of sorts) gets finished. This display represents the Irish Army Special Forces aka Army Ranger Wing, Fionoglach being the closest to a translation of "Ranger". The various items were picked up over the years and a couple of years back I finally managed to snaffle the unit flashand tab.

Back to faffing around with foam, this one inspired by a building near my barbers. Texturally the real thing is so rich... ( get Mr arty over there in Cardiff) still weathering and such like required . And here's the inspiration:

Trying to subdue the starkness of the plaster, so far its just had a filter of concrete to add a yellowish tinge. Its going to need more for sure, and probably a bit more towards brown/ sepia . Thoughts n suggestions graciously welcomed.

The brown/sepia tones would work better than the Yellow,I think.
