Tommy, Bert, thank you muchly chaps . Started the weathering process on this miniature beast . I'm mainly using these AK weathering pencils, and I am quite pleased with how they are going I have gently drawn on lines and patches and then, with a damp brush, spread the colour about. More to come yet

Most interesting. I knew about these but wasn't sure how they worked. Based on what I see here, these might be something I can add to my toolbox.

Have to admit I am sceptical about pencils, thinking it’s just another way to get me to part with my hard earned dosh…..but seeing the results I’m impressed.
Did you have to put a clear coat on before or are you pencilling straight over paint?

Duke, I say go for them. They are very subtle so a couple of passes are needed, but they build up quite well. Si, I had the same thoughts to start with, specially after Pete didn't like them. It is important to have a matt surface. The first run went over Vallejo matt, but that was too slippery, and they didn't adhere very well. I gave the model a coat of VMS matt and then they worked much better

Missed this one, Paul. Sorry about that. It does look rather good. Excellent paint job, and a good tip about the wheels.

Joe, Ian R, Ian H, Tommy, thank you kindly chaps . I must admit these pencils are bloody good, specially for this scale as they far more controllable than oils . Here's this afternoons/evening workings. For the upper hull I used the same pencils again, but this time differently. I used a wet brush, which was rubbed over the pencil to load it with colour. Then I applied this in a dabbing motion over the hull and blended it in. The hull is now finished, time to move onto the turret . Back soon chaps

Bert, Guy, thanks muchly my dear neighbours . Okay chaps, after some final fiddlings, I now call this one done . Oh yes, I might be mad and like to do all sorts of crazy camo, in any scale. But I not crazy enough to paint optics in 1/72. I used a piece of Tamiya tape, which I slightly sanded and then sprayed black. This was then cut into ca.1x 2,5 and 3mm strips and then stuck into place . Thanks for watching and as always ACACW

Awesome work, Paul, and great job with depicting the perfect amount of weathering for 72 scale.

This is most incredibly magnificent Paul! I would even say it's better than anything I can do! Stunning!
I'm glad that more and more people are building small scale armor, it gives me more to look at and enjoy. However, it also gives me feelings of inadequacy given that such Masters are doing so much better than I can. I'll just have to see if I can step up my game. Keep them coming Paul!
One suggestion for the optics: Your idea of using painted Tamiya tape is a brilliant idea and something I will definitely steal from you. However, these modern vehicles are equipped with anti-laser glass so they would tend to have a reddish tint to them. I suggest for the next one, paint the tape black, then overcoat that with a clear red before cutting and placing.
