Thanks mate
Most of it will be hidden but with a kit like this it has to be done as best you can I think
The canopy will be pulled back but as yet I'm not sure how I'm going to paint it, never done an open one before
Any tips welcome

When I use the open canopy option, I leave as much of the cockpit stuff off as I can. ie. The joystick, reflex sight, seat. The front glazing gets a mask which closes it in to the front, the cockpit area gets tape added closing that in also. I cut the tape when in place and cut as close as possible to the fuselage. Here's two pictures of what I mean .

Cheers Paul, I've seen people using foam too. I've also got the guns on show

sponge or foam would work also, but you to tape the cockpit front. Sponge for the gun and landing gear bays is absolutely perfect.

Yep, leave as much out of the front office as you can, like Paul said. That way you have a flat-plane to mask over. For that I use high-tack Freezer Tape which will latch on to the canopy rails really well and not allow bleed-through.

I missed three updates in a row of one of my favourite current threads! You didn't hang around did you? The cockpit looks top!

The cockpit is nearly finished, all the bits are fixed. You then build the plane around the finished cockpit

And I'm having the side door open so you can see more of the cockpit

Excellent, Robbo! The Spitfire cockpit is hard to see into so it will be great to have the access door down to see all that amazing detail.

Cheers jkb Done a half hour tonight. Bit of aluminium dry brushing inside the cockpit, you wont see it but I've done it anyway, decals on the ally tanks, whatever they are. Few bits to go inside the cockpit area of the main body, painted green, and a few decals too, then it's ready for closing up

Cheers mate I've just painted the aluminium inside the fuselage, behind the seat area Looking mighty fine there. The wing is a bit of a strange one with the instructions and I instead went for making sure the main wing spar is perfectly placed and then adding all the other wing spars.
