With the finishing of the bare metal Me-262 in its last straight line it was time to decide how to show it, as a stand alone model or as a diorama in its historical habitat, a forestal factory line next to a highway. My last diorama dates from two years ago so it's time to build a new one. I started with the making of a base using insulation board glued onto an mdf panel. On top of that I'm now creating a concrete platform for the jet. After experimenting with spackle I went for the cork and putty method, which is a lot cleaner to work with. Two of the concrete sections. The start of the works. Irony, the construction is pressed together by a German artillery shell casing.๐๐ Cheers, and stay tuned.๐ช

Thanks Tommy, it's my first 1/48 scale diorama ever. I bought this set to dress it up with as it comes with a Willys jeep.

That was my first ever figure set, armorguy.
Worth it just for the keep.

I think the cork method is a good idea Guy, specially in the scale

That was my first ever figure set, armorguy. Worth it just for the keep. The heads look really poorly sculpted, maybe I'll go for home sculpted ones. Ehrm...never ever done that so there's only a 1% chance I can do this succesfully.

At 1/48 scale? Good luck with those heads, armorguy.

Tommy, Paul and Ian, this is the concrete texture so far. A metal ruler was pulled over the surface to flatten it substantionally as it's 1/48 scale. This step is just about creating the texture, not the colour.
