Sharp looking, Spitfire, Steve! Yes, thick canopies can be a plague. There are a few in Hasegawa's 1/48th stable that are like that. I usually have to scrounge up vacu-forms, as well.

Despite the canopy, you've made an excellent job of the painting. Really nice looking Spitfire.

The Spit looks very cool Steve, with just a little patience it will look even more impressive but I must say...I'm afraid of vacform stuff. I'm sure though you're nailing it.

The Spitfire does look bloody awesome Steve Shame a bout the canopy though, and I am the same as Guy, those vacu formed parts scare the heck out me

A great looking spitfire, we'll just have to wait for the final result.

Tough luck with that canopy, Steve. She is a fine looking Spit.

Thanks chaps, email today to say my parcel is on its way. I'm looking forward to finishing this one although I'm a tad nervous about a faded desert paint job. I say parcel as I just had to order something else to justify the postage

Where's it coming from,Steve? Hannants here in the UK, they were the only stockists but they did have some kits that I wanted on sale so that covered the postage.

Right then my friends, I'm calling this one done. The vac canopy is 100% better than the Airfix one. It's not as neat as I wanted but it's a learning curve that might come in useful as I work my way through the stash that includes some very old kits. The worst part of many of these is the clear parts but Falcon do replacements for them all. 'Nuff blather...pics
