Thanks Ian. 👊 I fiddled on this afternoon while Sam was with the dog groomer. I don't know the exact word for it so I'll call it the 'cockpit cage' of which the sides are now ready to be weathered a bit. Result 1:
Result 2:

Impressive stuff AG! After using both I think that coloured PE looks better than 3D print, especially in 48 and 72 scales.
The frame is actually the tubular load bearing structure that the engine and wing bolted to. Being a Hawker aircraft you can trace this method back to the Demon and Fury biplanes.

That is one great piece of work, let's hope you will see it in the finished model... Thanks Bert, I'm afraid not that much will remain visible once the canopy is on. With that in mind I tuned up the brightness of the green just a tad.

Guy, that cockpit is phenomenal! The level of detail is amazing. And Sam the Pupper is such a great looking dog!!! Thanks for posting the photos of the 1/1 scale version. You are making me want to build my 32 scale Tempest.

The office is just awesome Guy . That second picture, of the real aircraft, it shows you how to to paint stripes with a mop Or maybe even, just add paint the butt of your overalls and slide over the wing

You are making me want to build my 32 scale Tempest. Thank you Ian, yes I just had to put al this sharp detail in, photo etched parts or plastic. It looks amazing indeed but all the credits go to the kit manufacturer! And Sam, well we're the best friends possible, especially since he suddenly lost his eyesight. The photos are an inspiration and I posted them to show once more that invasion stripes weren't always nicely brushed on. Of course there were some luckily and to be honest I prefer the 'clean' stripes on a model. Me inspiring a modeller of your caliber, that's nice to hear chap!
