Mence, you might want to check this video out. Original color footage of some Gannets (no restorations). At around the 2:58 mark you get a view of the nose strut; almost looks like Sky Type S. There are also some interior views with the canopy open when it goes down the elevator. Also lots of footage of the crews flipping access panels and working in the bomb bay.

I'm sure you will do a banging job turning out a top quality build mate, you don't give yourself the credit you deserve.
I personally don't like the look of these these planes and will not be getting one for sure, but this doesn't mean I wont enjoy watching you you build this one

Looking forward to seeing this build coming together. I’ve always had a soft spot for the Gannet. I had the Frog Gannet back in the mid 60s. The pilot’s heads were moulded as part of the fuselage. If I remember correctly, it included a nose weight.

Chaps. A little bit more. Cockpit parts are mostly in place, seats and detailing will follow. Note more nose weights, still not up to the recommended figure of 67g THanks.

That looks great, Mence! For a single engine plane, that is a massive airframe.

That looks great, Mence! For a single engine plane, that is a massive airframe. Technically, twin engined with counter rotating props. Both engines used for take off then one engine shut down for an hour then alternated with the other to increase loiter times. Google Double Mamber Engine, quite interesting.

That looks awesome,Bub. How far short are you of the 67 grams? I have 60g jammed in so far, 7g to go. In hindsight I should have used a denser metal to save space but it's not much more to add, I'll work it through.

Chaps. Disclaimer...I'm a pants modeler and I'm good with that. Ok, you get crew figures with the kit but if you opt not to use them, you are left with bare seats, not ideal. Struggled to find any kit specific seat belts so used some late WW2 ones to add visual interest. I know they are not 100%, many had blue colour belts while early ones may have had buff but I think they look ok ish and certainly better than nothing. Added plenty of tiny kit decals to the inside, seats were painted a brown shade as they appear to have been made of a bakelite type material? Detail painting and a dry brushing in a grey tone and I'm done. Apologies for the image, pretty dark this time of year.
