Nice grabs fellas! 47 years between B-26 kits? Wow. Here's my impulse purchase, I always wanted the Matchbox one when I was a kid but couldn't afford it. The paint was picked up from my LHS. I wanted the Vallejo stuff you guys have but it wasn't stocked so I thought I'd give these a try. Any tips on how to get the best out of them will be gratefully received!

Now that is a cool bird Steve . Don't think I have ever seen one built before. As for the paint, sorry I have no idea how that performs.

Spent the day with my older sister helping her do some yard work. It started she wanted to use my truck. We never actually went anywhere in my truck. We rode to a couple of home improvement stores...Lowe's and Home Depot. We stopped by the Hobby Lobby. They were running a pretty nice sale on model kits. They are pretty proud of their kits and really over price them. With the sale I got them for less than what I would from my normal online shop. Mainly I grabbed ones that always seem to be out of stock. Mostly car kits. I'm probably pretty much done with building autos after this batch. Though there's a couple of wish list kits I'll jump on if they ever reissue or have them in stock...I want. I needed paint but their stock was...well it left something to be desired. They just had car kits. They had the two Walker Bulldogs...and that wa sit except for a couple of old Monogram 1/32 Pattons. They had a coupel of ship kits but even with the sale they were a little pricey.
I grabbed some limbs. I'm thinking about making some trees at some point. The last few I've tried making have looked ...pretty bad. I figured I'd try this. I got some wooden strips for planks. I grabbed a T-square because I broke my good one.
Tamiya's venerable Walker Bulldog. For some reason I like this kit. It's horrible and really shows its age...it's 50 y/o. It's a great chassis to fiddle with for what-ifs. That's what I'll end up doing with it. I picked up their last two...I've got $20 usd in the pair. May hold one out for the GB...though I want to snag a Tamiya M21 mortar carrier for that one.
Jeep Rubicon...because Jeeps things. I liked the last one I built...had some paint issues but we won't revisit that. Probably going to have some fun-fun with this one...did I mention "Jeep Things"? You know Revell reissued their CJ7...Jeep things.
Firebird. My favorite year and favorite bumper style. My might go post-apoc Road Warrior deal with it. That's something I've been thinking about.
'76 GMC 4x4. This is the kit I wanted a couple of Christmases ago and was gifted with a different one. It has been in and out of stock so I grabbed it. Post apoc maybe...or big game hunting or something.

Picked this off the shelf at my local model emporium a couple of weeks ago….a complete impulse buy. The deck upgrade was picked after a bit of research on the kit….as you do …. Always good to have another fellow shipmodeller ! Will be following this one with excitement...

Very cool condition of grabs. So is a Pontiac Firebird the same as a TransAm Firebird? I remember building a Firebird when I was a kid but thought it said TransAm on the box.

I think the Transam was a turbo charged version of the Pontiac Steve.....a bit beefier in other words, i could be wrong, i know the first Pontiac birds came out about 67 and the transam version in 69 with an improved engine.

A Poniac Firebird is the GMC/Pontiac version of the Chevy Camaro. The Firebird had several package options; The Trans AM, the Formula, the Espirt, and the Turbo Trans Am. Most of the differences were trim and performance packages.
Dad was a street car guy, before he focused on imports, and that's some of my earliest memories. I learned to drive a manual trans in Triumph Tr6. Dad loved those Triumphs and MGs...though the latter were really too little for him. He got really turned off on muscle cars because of the fuel stuff and the way muscle cars went from speed to bloated autos enlarged to increase the GVW so they could stuff a large smog control V8 in it...just to get a weaker engine in a heavier car. A little Datsun 280z would run circles around alot the mid-70s cars....funner too imo.
I love the '70 Firebird because it was somewhat small sporty...and that front end is just gorgeous...compared to what it would become. Same thing with a '70-'71 Corvette. Never had one. Never driven one...just like the look. Though my middle sister had a 4th Gen Camaro....wasn't too thrilled about that one.
