Looks good but I feel your pain! That type of weathering is really quite difficult to do on small models. It looks soft edge but it's actually a high number of small hard edge chips and flakes. Chipping fluid or hairspray is the way I'd go under what you've got there.

Stick in there Bert. If this is a training run, then suck all the lessons you are learning and use them later on another build BTW, all is looking good to my eye

Both planes chipped and airbrakes painted red And there are 3 great walk around video's of Duntlesses on Youtube which show the aillerons are different material than the wings and tail, like cloth or something like that, so no chipping on them but a slightle different colour...
