Paul, how did you replicate the branches? Did you apply the grass foliage to the boxwood roots? Beautifully done.....

Paul, how did you replicate the branches? Did you apply the grass foliage to the boxwood roots? Beautifully done..... Cheers muchly Ian . The idea of making these branches wasn't mine, I just copied the Modelling Meister Armorguy . I did do a few things differently though, they needed to be changed due to the scale. Here's Guy's recipe from his Me262 Woodland build. The changes I made are in red: mho.freeforums.net/thread/5092/silenced-waldwerke-finished?page=101) I selected seafoam branches with a nice shape. Swapped Seafoam for Boxwood roots2) the main branches were given a barky texture simply by brushing on Tamiya white putty. I left this part, as the roots have a natural rough texture3) the branches were then airbrushed in different shades varying from brown over orangy to yellow (this brings in the sunshine!). Stained the roots with AK/ MIG trackwash, thin until you have the desired brownness.4) the smallest branches were then given the brightest shades simply by adding a little white. I left this also5) after gently dabbing on thinned wood glue dark green grass fibres (the shortest) were sprinkled on. Make sure you don't leave big blobs of glue on the branches, this ruins the transparent aspect. I used Revell Contacta Clear, very slightly thinned. This was applied by brush. I also used 2.5mm grass fibres and 6-8mm fibres. Leave to fully cure overnight6) once the glue was hardened I sprayed on a dark blueish green, followed by a brighter green. Very important step, the grass needs new colours as there some odd coloured fibres in there, also the fibres have a unnatural shade.7 I finished with a firm layer of matt clear. I didn't use this.

Now that is such a cool update my dear neighbour, as it shows how creative we are to reach our imaging, and how methods can be personalized to sort other effects.

Okay chaps, I'm calling this one finished. It isn't as beaten and battered as I would have wished it to be, it's more worn and weathered. I hope it's still acceptable for the GB . More pics in the Gallery, as always ACACW .

I'm sure it fits well within the parameters of this GB. 'course it will up up to Mr.H for the final word. Oh, yes! What a beautiful build. And plenty of scratches, dings and chips to fit the bill. Thanks for posting all the info about the foliage, as well!
