Thanks gents. I went with a mottled effect after the back primer and then hit it with some highlights but the pic doesn’t show it well, so glad you could make it out. So after finding artwork of a scheme I like, I broke out the masking tape and blue tack and set to it…
Took a couple of sessions to get it all masked up. The green was from my leftover jar where I tip any leftover mix of green.
The masking went ok by my eye thankfully.

Cheers chaps….thanks everso for your continued encouragement We have tracks!! And very close to being done I reckon? Pistol port chain needs a lick of paint and the end of the recovery cable needs weathering. I’ve noticed I can see the carrier film around the decals, so I’ll mask the numbers and tickle them up with airbrush, before anymore weathering. I was quite daunted at doing such a flat square model, thinking it would be difficult to weather but I’m actually quite pleased with the outcome so far.
