Looks nice and neat in primer fella, how will you mask the camo?

Thanks, everyone! Steve, since it's a hardline camo I will mask it with Washi Rice Paper tape, cut to the appropriate pattern.

Ian

I just caught up with this. I built one of these last year, but mine was in Australian markings. I masked my tree-tone pattern with Silly Putty and I also had it fully assembled before I painted it. This is looking great so far; you are going to enjoy the rest of this build. Just for fun, here's the one I did:
I'm sure yours will turn out far better.

Duke, that looks great and thanks for sharing! That will be a good motivator to get some paint on mine. These Tigers are kind of deceiving.....doesn't look like a large airframe when in fact it is really a pretty big gunship.
Best wishes,
Ian

Thanks Ian! I'm glad I was able to motivate you. Yeah, these are big birds for attack helicopters. I know yours will rock more than mine! Looking forward to seeing more.

I started the camo on the Tiger. I am depicting a French Tiger and they carry a three-tone almost like the NATO Tri-Color tank scheme. I decided to used Enamel Model Master Pale Green which is a very close match. This is the green used in the Israeli AF Desert Camo. I will let this set up and then start masking for the Brown and the Black. Best wishes, Ian

You certainly can't beat those Model Master enamels . With this picture you have shown us just how smooth and well covering they are (were)

Thanks Paul! Yes, the paint lays down nicely. It is a shame most of the Model Master line is now defunct and they are down to basic color only. I am down to maybe 15 bottles in my Model Master stash. Good memories with their paint.

Ian

Super spray job, Ian. Most of the MM stuff is still available over here, still. Won't be long before they get scarce, I'm thinking.

that green looks good to me . I used the MM enamels for many a year . My only problem with it is the clean up process but it is good paint .

I still use the model Master enamels and usually have no issues with cleanup. This is looking great and that is a similar color I applied to my Australian one. I like it, keep this coming man!

Thanks for stopping in, Plastic Floggers! I added some post-shading to the green, although I didn't post that. I then masked off the rest of the helo with Washi Tape and sprayed the brown portion of the camo. I used Vallejo Rust, FS30111 and it went on just fine. I will let that cure up, post shade that and then add the black. Regards, Ian
