Thank you Paul! I got in some bench time with the Tiger since it is still raining here. I got the panel lines drawn on with a pencil and then I started adding the sub-assemblies to the model. Everything fit really well and no issues were encountered. I also got the ordnance for the stub wings built and those pieces were really nicely molded. There was just a seam on the rocket pod and that buffed out well too. I will start on the rotor assembly next and hopefully have this beast finished in the coming weeks. Regards, Ian

Boots and Jeff, thanks so much. More work on the Tiger this weekend due to the rain. I figured HobbyBoss would get something wrong and they did as their color callouts for the rotors were all jacked up. HB called for black but reference shots show them to be a medium green so I used the Vallejo SAC Green from the FB-111 project and that was a perfect match. The leading edges show to be silver so I masked the blades with Washi tape and painted that with Vallejo Silver. I have just a few spots to touch up there, however. The ordnance was also finished and the pods and rails were painted Mission Models OD. I did some slight post-shading on the Tiger itself with Tamiya Smoke and then added the wheels and small sub- assemblies. The exhausts also have a seam inside that is basically unreachable so I made exhaust covers out of sheet stock and those will be painted red and added later. Next will be the Pledge gloss coat and the few decals will be added. Best wishes, Ian

I had referenced the 1% rule in Boots' HEMMT thread where you get to be 99% done and have to deal with stupid problems at the 1% mark. This issue was actually HobbyBoss induced, however. I got the model varnished with a gloss coat for the decals. I looked at the HobbyBoss decal sheet for the French Army version but the markings on there did not look like anything close to the French Tiger pics on the web. They all appeared to carry a simple three letter code on the nose along with a few stencils. The HB decals almost looked like some kind of demo bird. I went to the spare decal notebook and found some spare letters to use from an old Hobbycraft decal sheet so I used those to make the code and they went on fine. Next I installed the exhaust covers so the huge seam in the exhausts would be covered up. I will work on the rotor disc today and hopefully get this wrapped up. Regards, Ian
