That's too bad, Pete. Did you use the Catalyzed clear?

That's too bad, Pete. Did you use the Catalyzed clear? I don't think so Jeff, it wasn't a clear you had to mix two parts for. I'm currently attempting to remove the paint with various products so fingers crossed!

Pete, this might sound ridiculous, but have you thought of brake fluid ? I know it's aggressive, but in small amounts it might help.

Well the bodyshell has been sitting in a sealed container with a whole bottle of dettol for 48 hours so this evening I decided to have a look and see if anything had happened. Imagine my surprise and delight when I found that the dettol had actually worked!! Bearing in mind that I sprayed the body with a lacquer based paint over my usual primer and I'm sure you will be suprised too. The body and in fact the whole house now smells like a bloody hospital but that's a small price to pay for a major save on this build! Also the dettol is dirt cheap compared to other products. I've now got to try and do a better paint job or perhaps contract it out? Flippin chuffed it worked though!

Also i suppose being as Dettol is water soluble a good wash will clear any residue which might affect paint

Dettol is and antiseptic liquid used to clean cuts/grazes and also used as a antibacterial cleaner/disinfectant etc

It is Chloroxylenol which is banned in a few countries now. It’s more or less harmless to humans and dogs but lethal to cats, even from licking their paws after walking over a damp floor, and water life. I don’t think you can get it in the US so oven cleaner is your best bet Jeffers B)
