Thankee very much chaps . I must I have been slacking lately not only here but on other builds too, that is due to work and looking after this home of ours . But I shall now start getting back into the trot and getting my builds moving again . Today I got the commanders cupola and drivers optics in place, also I painted the thermal senors for the sides of the turret . I must at this point say the glazing has some bad attchment points which really need careful clean up, tis a shame that TM have added the sprue attachments at the top and bottom of the sights. It would have been much better to have done this from the sides, but with very very careful removal and cleaning they come out okay. Thermal sensors painted with silver from the rear and a mix of Revell Aqua clear red and blue from the front The commanders cupola now with masked optics, and a pre-prime More soon Sirs

Well I had some primer left in the AB after the SU, so why not use it ? Seriously though, the commaders cupola needs this, as the back of the sights too. These will be impossible to get at after they have been fitted, so better get a pre prime in place . I can see the loaders hatch needs it too now .

Nice work on the optics mate, I agree too tiger has some of the worst attachment points I've seen. I found a fine saw really helped get em off without buggering them up

Many thanks indeed chaps . Paul the only issue I had with the PE was with the large fan covers . When cut from the fret they roll up . There's quite a bit of tension on them, so I laid them down and rolled a mini rolling pin over them until they slightly bent in the negative direction . I got some more work done, mostly on the turret associated stuff . I painted the sights and optics with Humbrol transparent green. This is only the start, the innards this will get a black base coat and possibly the inside of the glazing another clear colour, I reckon clear red if I can find some soon . The gun barrel is a three part affair which is rather annoying, but with a little TLC the two halves clean up well and the muzzle can be added without any issues . One other issue I have found is this strange gap between the mantlet and the turret , I can't believe this can be seen on the real vehicle. SO I shall add a smidging of white stuff to the inside to close this up More soon chaps and as always ACACW Paul, you'll find when you add the gunners sights, that that 'V' gets all but covered up

Very nice Paul, the three tone sounds like it'll be a nice change from desert colours

Chris, wathca fella . Yep I noticed this morning as I was checking the sights . Paul also mentioned that it disappear behind something Steve, cheers mucker . You're certainly right the add-ons fella , although this apparently weighs only 60 tonnes . The Leopard 2 is heavier than that . Ian, many thanks buddy . As for the paint scheme, well I still deciding on that, it'll be 3 tone for sure but I just can't decide yet between desert or Nato colours . A little bit more on the turret today . Gunners sight and remote weapons station . I knocked up a little optical device for inside the gunners sight, but you can't see very much now it's together . More tomorrow chaps
