Tamiya 1/48 Churchill Crocodile 02/03 Finished

Tis done now fellas! The resin links have been glued to the hull and turret, looks very war like now. So she's off for a bathe so back to the humvee!

Cheers guys, today I got the main colour on over a grey primer. As you know I wanted to test out the real colors S.C.C 15 olive drab on this so I thinned it down with their thinners to the same consistency I usually thin my tamiya and mr colour paints. The first thing to note is the paint smells a lot stronger than tamiya and gunze. The thinner whiffs a fair bit too so combined it's quite an odour.

However the paint/thinner mixes up nicely, you will find that water has no effect and will not clean off the paint from your stirrer etc. I used the thinners which cleaned up my tools no problem. Onto spraying and I must say it went down a dream, drying almost immediately to a beautiful matt finish. The colour intensity also built up very fast. The specific colour of SCC 15 I think it is very nice indeed, the pictures you see here are straight from the bottle without any of my usual lightening. This will certainly help you if you want a one pot solution or don't want to mix this colour up. I will be adding lighter tones next using tamiya flat flesh added to it so the experiment continues!

Looks very nice! I do not use AK paints just because the AK's shipping charges are too high.

Sure is mate. I've done some further testing trying to add highlights with flat flesh to the base colour and it actually darkens the shade. After lots of head scratching I tried white which again made it go dark. I think perhaps the paint is a more complex mix of colours than I expected so I'll just use oils etc to add some lighter areas later.

Now that does look mighty grand indeed fella
