Thanks, gents. These are a pretty smooth build as the kit can be built and painted in separate components.

Ian

Thanks, Boots! I got the True Details resin tubs installed in the fuselage section and they fit really well, even though they were designed for the Monogram F-14. I also installed the instrument panel covers. The Hasegawa moldings of the covers were too smooth and I wanted to make them more wrinkled as they appear on the actual -14's so I covered them with champagne bottle foil and burnished them down so they followed the actual contours of the hoods. I will be adding a Steel Beach resin chin pod to the nose as well because all the Hasegawa chin pods for every F-14 variant (A, B and D) are molded too small. The Steel Beach pod is really a nice piece of resin and is beautifully molded. Stay tuned, gents. Best wishes, Ian

I installed the resin Steel Beach chin pod this morning and it is a great enhancement to the kit as it is nicely molded and the correct dimensions. Best wishes, Ian

I have a minor update for the F-14 since I had some down time on the BUFF and the Panther. I got the boat-tail assembled and Hasegawa actually provides both style boat-tails for A-model F-14s. The one I am depicting has the mid-production boat-tail which features the fuel dump only (no ECM blister). I got the vertical stabs assembled as well and they had a bad case of flash so the edges had to be cleaned up. Stay tuned........ Regards, Ian
