LOL.......and when ya do get to paint it`s all good matey Yeah i forgot the spare wheel mount on the hull (not supplied in the kit??) so i`ve done that as well........might have to bite the bullet and make some milliput field bags.......or at least something that resembles one , i want this thing looking like a pack horse and there`s only a couple in the kit

Ok chaps...........sorry but just a widdy up date, i`m just adjusting getting back to 9-5 work in the new job so i`m just getting used to a bit of evening time without having to worry about going to bed at 7 or 8pm.....i`m just chillin` and doing bits here and there at the mo but once i get into a routine and a bit more familiar with the new place i`ll pick it up a bit Anyhoo........story so far, really a case of addin` those few bits i missed bit i`m gonna hold fire and doubly make sure i don`t need to add other odds and ends at a later date........as mentioned i want this loaded like a pack horse Added is the front spare wheel holder....the commanders vane........a grab rail to hang stuff orfe.......and a bar in the rear bustle (to hang things orfe btw), those two brackets were used for the 12.7mm spare barrels during travel..........some pics i`ve seen in B/W show stowage hanging off the rear bustle and it certainly ain`t gonna be hung on the barrels..........unless ya wanna fire round corners
The plank on the front is good `ol cawfee stirrer so hopefully it weather up nicely
Again......if you double click things show a bit better, my camera really needs replacing for something more suitable and also some better lighting maybe, my camera just kills colour and detail
Don`t know whether i`m entirely happy with the figs if i`m honest..........just wondering whether to bite bullet and get the Mini-Art winter US tank crew WWII ,it`s just not doing it for me......i don`t like the way he is facing away from front, he`s just not engaging in anything, the Mini-art set has 5 figs (what the hell am i letting myself in for!!!)....they are more interestingly posed IMHO.......but i could still use the driver and bow gunner if need be
Hope to get some colour on soon......got a ways to go on this yet

Nice additions again mate, just the job for hanging loads of kit on! I guess the commander's cupola is fixed? If not perhaps turning it so he faces the front of the tank would help, however he does look a bit wooden. The mini art figures are nice and if you add the driver & hull gunner you only really need to paint them as half figures cos you won't see the rest.

Looking good there Boots and I do agree about the figure. It kinda looks like they are bored with watching where the tank is going so have decided to pass the time by enjoying the scenery instead.

Pete and Jason.....thanks fellas Pete....yeah unfortunately it is fixed, and the same thought had crossed my mind regarding wishing i hadn`t been so hasty , the kit driver and gunner are only half a body anyway Pete so that makes life easier , yeah the MA ones do look good and the commander will at least face front even with the hatches as they are Jas.......yeah i figured (`scuse the pun) it either needed some-one down below or nearby him on the tank itself to look like he`s interacting with someone.........again i glued the other hatch shut with the intention of just using the 3 kit figures so that ruled out that idea

......if i can remember how i did it!!! I tend to just do what i want until desired effect reached,i have a few favourite base colour mixes that i keep written down but the weathering is just a mish-mash of various google/You tube tips etc......i`ll use the basic techniques that i research and then go do my own thing

For some reason the salt method comes to mind but it looks too good for that.

I think the Churchy was a mix of salt method and sponge if i remember rightly .........i like both methods so i`ll probably have a dabble with both options Cheers Robbo Ok quick update...i have shot a base-coat of Black Green over the entire model, i`ll leave this to dry fully and then i will build up the thin layers of the OD........once that is dry i will lighten with a mix of XF-13, XF-21 and XF-62 in the higher spots to give some basic colour modulation...........i`ll purposely go quite light to allow for the latter stages of paint/weathering etc
It`s actually a bit darker on the bench but the light coming thru the window is making it look a touch lighter
If ya double click the second pic down it shows the cast effect i did with the glue method quite nicely on the turret
More soon chaps
