I picked this kit up at the recent Lancing Model show for £30 and decided to make a start on it while waiting for paint to dry on another model. The kit itself is pretty nice with a good balance of detail vs. being easy to build. Saying that I believe there are a few issues with the turret itself but nothing that sounds awful. Some good progress so far and you can save quite a bit of time by skimping on the clean-up of the running gear that is going to be hidden, oh and that will go for the tracks as well so that should be about a third less links to build.

Nice one, yes in my opinion the only areas that are weak on the turret are the front plate which should be slightly thicker, plastic card sorts that. The independent sights are solid but again easy to fix as are the metal covers for these and the two tubes on the sides of the hull. Again easy to remedy. There are some differences between the Finnish turret and the Chiefy obviously but good refs will help.

Well just a quick update. I’ve carried on with the upper hull and made a start on the turret. At the mo I’m not adding the little details until I decide whether to attempt the Berlin camo. I really do like the look of it but I’m not sure my masking skills are up to it.

Now that would be very cool in the Berlin camo! I’m leaning towards giving it a try as the worst that can happen is I end up grabbing my NATO Green to cover up the mess I made.

Just a quick update after having a bad back and then being on holiday. I’ve got to the stage of adding all but the little bits of detail as I don’t want them getting in the way of the masking. I’m now finishing up the tracks and I realised that not only can I save time by doing not doing the top run I can also save some time but not adding track pads to the bottom run.

Thanks Steve, just to work out which Tamiya colours to use. One thing I did think about the Berlin camo is it does mean I don’t have to spend too much on the weathering/finishing as the visual interest is already there. Oh and a start on the tracks.

Fabulous bit of work there Jason......tracks look fun....NOT!!! , look forward to seeing that camo Well it’s not as bad as it may seem as the tracks are already off the sprue so it’s only the track pads that need to be cleaned up. Hopefully I’ll have the wheels all painted up tomorrow ready for the tracks.

Great progress, half runs & no pads on the bottoms are what I've done in the past.

Well before I started ABing I thought I’d finally give my Neo a refresh and replace the parts I’ve scavenged of my selection of cheapo Chinese copies. So a new nozzle and needle later and it’s like having a new AB. Anyway out with the rubber black and the NATO green and now just waiting for things to dry. Oh but I’m sure everyone wants a wheels on sticks picture.
