And why not? If it works for the T-34/85 it’d work for the Tiger!

I made some more progress on the '46 Octo-Tiger. I found a nice set of Lion's roar metal tow cables in the spares box that I intend to use on the project. I got all the cage armor built for the hypothetical add-on armor. I will have four pieces on one side and three on the other as I intend to depict it as if one of the pieces had been damaged or blown off. I also made metal armor plate to place over the grills on the rear deck. All these pieces will be mounted with sheet stock tubing but I taped them on the tank to show how they will look in the meantime. I think I am going to display it on a base so I am using a winter base from a diorama that I broke down from several years ago (one that I wasn't quite happy with). I will use MIG Diorama Snow for the base itself. Anyway, getting close to primer time and there are just a few details I have to clean up on the tank itself. Regards, Ian

Thanks guys!!!! Yes, the cage armor is going to be rusted and absolutely trashed. As far as white wash goes, I think I may just do traces of some old whitewash, mainly because I don't want to hide the Octopus Camo, completely. Regards, Ian

I am basing this build on photos of Russian armor in Berlin from '45 with the intent to make the '46 Tiger look like a mobile, weathered wreck. I wasn't sure how to bend and tear up the cage armor so I decided to just go with the direct approach and hit the pieces with a hair dryer on the highest heat setting. Sometimes direct is best and it worked like a charm. Now I just have to knock some holes in the mesh. I just have a few more details to do on the Tiger hull and it will be ready for primer since the "Octo" paint has arrived. Best wishes, Ian
