Welcome chaps , nice to see the usual gang back here again . Before I start, here's a little background on the vehicle itself. The Caernarvon wasn't a planed vehicle, much more it was a stop gap to get the finished Conqueror hulls out to the troops for training purposes. Even though this was an improvised tank, it was fully functional. The reason for this improvisation was that the turret and fire control system of the Conqueror weren't ready, they were still in the development phase. So to speed training up for the crews it was decided to make a medium gun tank on the Conqueror hull which included the Cent Mk.III turret. Altogether 10 of the Caernarvon were produced, 5 with Centurion turrets and 5 with ballast dummy turrets. The vehicle registration numbers were 07BA68 through to 07BA77. Training was done in the UK, as well as by units of the BAOR and Middle East Land Forces. Here's the kits I need for this project, also it will be a straight turret swap with only a new turret ring added to the Conqueror Mk1 hull. In reality nothing else was changed on the vehicle.

Okay chaps we're off . The upper hull is only dry-fit, I wanted to see how the Tamiya turret looked on here. I reckon I am going to have to find a replacement, the Tamiya turret is too big I reckon. I get some measurements done to make sure, but to me it looks to high .

If the Tammy turret is accurate then the Amusing hull is out. Or...................?
Never quite as easy as one thinks these modifications!

Tim nice of you join in fella . I have checked the height and it appears to be correct, it measures up with the AFV Club Cent turret, it must be a bloody optical illusion. Even the hull measures up with the Dragon Conqueror.

I reckon the photo at the top of your thread was taken from a low angle that makes the turret look lower than a true 90 degree shot would. It if all measures up then it’s all good
