Thanks chaps as ever your comments keep me plugging away! I've now added some subtle chipping & when I say subtle I mean it. you can hardly see any in the pictures but it's there. I've also made up two call sign boards for the turret basket. I'm off to see Brian in the morning & hopefully he's found some suitable numbers for this. Some padlocks for the side bins have also gone on as well & the bare base is now ready for ground work.

Call sign boards are now done after adding some white decals and then over painting with yellow. They are not the exact font or style as seen on the real thing but they will do I think. The model looks even more colourful now.

Cheers guys, the model has now had a light filter followed by a couple of rounds of pin washes using oils. Next will be some streaking I think. The base has also been concreted and here I've experimented by tamping the still wet concrete mix with a long ruler to get a rougher texture to the surface. You can't really see it in the picture but it should stand out better with some weathering.

Cheers guys, here's the model after an overnight cure for the varnish and all the glazing & lights done. I'll leave the varnish to cure for another day before a very light dusting of heavily thinned tamiya buff and pigments to finish it off.
