Help needed from anyone who may have built this little beauty. Destructions at part 3 call for some drilling. Problem is their do not appear to be any clear indications of exactly where the holes should be, and little indication of why the holes need to be drilled. Have checked right through the destructions and cannot even see if any parts are to be fixed using the holes. This might help
Would hate to decide not to drill and then find I was wrong after painting. Tim

Tim, for starters it appears there are several issues with the Revell instructions. This article outlines what needs to be fixed and what the errors are on the instruction sheet. This might save you some trouble on the other assemblies: brexitmodeller.com/forums/topic/1675-revell-148-tornado-f3-instructions-03925/In regards to the holes towards the rear of the fuselage, the only thing I can see that would go there are these two fairings (forward of the chaff buckets) which are indicated on the 1/1 scale version below: The hole behind the nose gear bay is a mystery as I am not really seeing anything in photos. Could it be a locater pin for the Skyflash missile that goes in the well there? I also am not seeing anything in photos for that second drill-spot back from the nose, indicated in the instructions. Would that one have anything to do with the rear starboard Skyflash missile mount as well? If the Skyflashes have locater pins on the fins that might explain it but if not I am not sure about those holes. Regards, Ian

Hiya Tim, the hole at the front is for the navigation light, part F189 In my opinion the other holes are errors left over from the GR4 instructions meant for the weapons pylons. GR4 section of the instructions below All in all this is another poor effort from Revell who seem to be taking the Trumpy view on accuracies and details. The GR4 cockpit is not a GR4, strange lumps and bumps on their 1/32 Spit and the 1/72 Halifax is a joke... to list just a few off me soap box now

Ian & Steve,
Your assistance is much appreciated. I can now see that only one hole need be drilled, the one at the front to facilitate the fitting of F189 (there are 2 F189's but one is for the top side behind the canopy).
The rest will be ignored.
Also, thanks Ian for the item from B*****modeller.com (Can't even bring myself to type the word ) it will help to complete the build without to much "Anglo Saxon" cussing. I hope!

Sorry about the web name, Tim!😂😂 Nonetheless, he did have some good notes in there about the other errors so it may save some extra sanding and filling later.😂 Best wishes, Ian

Right, on with the office. Basicly finished, but will give it a wash with some ultra dilute black to pick out the detail. Full view. Closed up. As ever "move along please, not much to see here" More soon. Tim
