Great start Joe . Be carefull with painting, the driver / co-driver and engine compartment are white, the side walls of the fighting compartment are also white, including the sponsons. The tread plate under the trurret is however OD . Thanks Paul, that's a great help. Excuse my ignorance, but I'm not sure what you mean by the sponsons? Also, are the areas I've pointed out on the instructions in white correct? Cheers Edit. Tamiya have answered my question since I posted this. If only I had looked in the first place.

Joe, the front part of C9 is white. The top and the rear of where your 3 arrows go to are olive drab. The sponsons are the wings that carry the munition parts , it is arguable if these areas (almost visible from above the the open turret) were also OD.

I built Academy's M36/M36b2 kit. It has a full interior. Hull interior paint varied between sources. The floorplate OD seems to be standard. The real differences seem to be how far forward and back you paint OD. And, the sides of the sponsons.
This is what I ended up going with. You really cannot see much of it once the turret is placed.
Anyway, I'm interested to see how the Tamiya kit builds up.

Wow, that's an impressive bit of modelling. Lot more detail than the Tamiya kit.

The Academy M36/M36B2 is pretty nice. It's missing an engine and there's some room for a little detailing, but it builds up pretty nice out of the box.

Yeah Alex, I can see it builds you to a nice model. I've assembled the lower hull. This went together very easily as you would expect from Tamiya. Bit of a school boy error when using the liquid cement applying a tad to much on the front bracket. I have white finger, and when it's cold, I can't handle small items as well as I used to. Still, here's a couple of photos to show my (slow) progress.

Looking good Joe . Don't worry too much about the glue smear, it happens to only too often. I usually end up sodding finger print on the wing of an aircraft which far worse to remove . Once the primer goes on and paint and dirt nobody will ever see it .

good progress Joe, yeap I suffer from glue finger all the time, usually when I'm gluing some crucial part and I get more glue under my finger than the model!

Thank you Ian. A little progress. I've assembled as much of the running gear as possible. This will be given a coat of primer paint before applying the top coat. I normally build aircraft in sections, painting and weathering them as I go. I thought I would try it on a bit of armour to see how that works out. My last attempt at weathering on armour went totally wrong when I ruined it with a wash. As you can see, the tracks have been glued together using normal plastic cement. These will dry overnight before I remove the clamps.
