Well, I have really had to think about what I was going to build for Carl's Tribute. There were at least 5 subjects I had in mind, but somehow I just couldn't settle. So after thinking about what a great person and fantastic modeler he was, I decided that the only right thing would be King Tiger. Hence the titel " a König for the King of modelling". For me Carl was a great friend, we had contact with each other for many years, albeit only email or here on the forums. Even so, I learned many a thing from Carl, that is why for me at least, he is the King of this game. Wherever you may be, take care ole chap. This is going to be my build .

Nice one, PB. Carl always had a soft spot for big guns.

Wouter, does "Königstiger" suit you ? I prefer Tiger II or Tiger ausf. B but ok, Königstiger was an unofficial nickname used by the German crews, so I can live with that . But the incorrect translation which continues to this day - especially when used by professional companies - is something else ...but hey...no one is perfect LOL Cheers

Thanks for your supportive words fellas , I just hope I can get close to as good as Carl would have done . I started off as per instruction sheet, which begins with the turret. I'm using the Tamiya zimmerit stickers, these are rather nice but a PITB to cut out . I also got the RB Models 88 put together, I didn't need to do that now but what heck . Back soon fellas

Zimm looks good partner. And a metal barrel is always a good upgrade. Looks bad ass mucker!
