ah, now I understand why you asked me the question about camouflage Nice exhaust idea mate. And love the zimmerit damage. To tell you about the camouflage: I don't think prototypes V1, V2 and V3 got any camouflage. Just plain dunkelgelb. The prototypes had some distinct differences between them and the later production vehicles. For instance, on the side of the radio operator/bow gunner the glacis didn't have a cut out in front of the periscope, as can be seen on the Bovingting Tiger II: You can see that the glacis on the JagdTiger does have the cut out. Keep up the good work mate, I like where this is going. Cheers

Chaps, thank you very much . Wouts, thanks for waking me up to the subtle differences fella . In fact I have seen a load more now . Due to the wake up call on the early prototypes of this monster tank, I have started changing a few more bits and bobs . Darned annoying I didn't see this earlier, but that's the way things go I suppose . Okay to start with I filled the glacis cutout on the radio ops side I have corrected the towing eye mounts also On the turret I have swapped the vent cover for an early one, with a tad white stuff and spares I then moved onto the exhaust covers, which been fabricated from thin aluminium sheet. These are only dry fitted which why they wonky. I'm now checking my reference book for any other oddities that need changing, I think the only thing left is the snorkel cover on the engine deck. But, it looks like I can either use the kit part, or if I chose to the UK (unterwasser-kampfanlage) cover .

Nice backdating...yeah, these fellas were a bit different than their younger brothers and sisters ey The armored cover for the snorkel comes in an update set from Voyager Models these days. Many moons ago when I was building an initial one I had to score one from an older Dragon Panther D kit...we are so spoiled these days Keep up the good work Paulo!

Paul, what book are using for the reference stuff? Just curious because info gets sparse sometimes on these early Tiger IIs.

Guy, Boots, Pete, Ian, cheers ole chaps . I wondering what else I might have missed now . Ian, the book is from Motor Buch Verlag, by Walter J Spielberger and Hilary Doyle. It's called "Panzer VI Tiger und seine Abarten". I have no idea if there is an English version, but at a guess possibly yes. It costs €19,90 here, and there is a whole range of these books covering just about everything on the German Wehrmacht equipment, plus some covering more modern stuff.
