Build it as you like, Paul. Carl would have.

I finally got around to starting on this.As with all things Tamiya, pretty painless so far, even with issues of the ride-height based as it is on their M48. Running gear almost done and the turret tacked together to get a sense of the size of things- its a big enough beastie.

Need to finish off a couple for On Track, but then I can focus on this one and do it properly.

Nice progress here. Brings back fond memories of building this kit many moons ago.
Best wishes,
Ian

Paul, this is the only plastic kit of this vehicle in ANY scale. I've been wanting one of these along with an MBT-70 in my scale, but nobody has ever released either one. Looking forward to seeing more. This is gonna be a fun ride! .. Update: Team Yankee do a small scale gaming version if that is of any use. Detail will probablybe a bit chunky I would have thought, but better than nothing. I pass a gaming store on my run home so if I have time tonight I'll stop by a take a pic.

I am wanting to build this with commander figure/gnome which will necessitate hatch open... Obvs.. Anyone know of any images of what the inside looks like? I'm assuming some padding and a locking catch. Any advice/guidance very much welcomed.

Yeah, I've seen that but since Team Yankee is played with 1/100 scale miniatures, it's far too small. I did see someone who had scratch built one before, but my efforts proved that was beyond my capabilities. I just have to wait for someone to eventually do one... if ever...
Looking forward to seeing more. As for the hatch interior, if you look for open hatches from M-60 tanks; you should be right in the ballpark. A lot of the components for this vehicle were off the shelf.

That certainly is a big old turret . About 20 tons worth Ian, on a 30+year old surplus hull. What could possibly go wrong with that?
