I'm now starting to bring all the little bits together and have started on the cab with a drop of pigments for the floor. I've also added all the light lenses and knocked up some bits to furnish the cab. The plan is to get the cab together now minus the glazing and start adding some pigments on this and the chassis.
Cheers mates, the shopping bag is from Dan models and the checkered pattern is supplied as decals which is very handy! Today I've been hitting the model with the sand pigments and quite frankly having the time of my life! Sad I know but the weathering has been so much fun. As you can see I've got some really nice dust buildup on the cab area and some dusty streaks as well. I've also added the bits for the cab and the glazing. The front windscreen was the only part in the kit where the fit was slightly iffy but with some pigments it looks fine.
A bit of fuel staining and some soot on the pods finished it off. I'm well happy with this and can now crack on with a suitable diorama for it which I'm really looking forward too. Warning, picture heavy!
Thanks chaps, I've now started on the base for the truck and started with my usual Ikea picture frame which I blocked in using foam board. I then started working on the Red Zebra block wall sections. The rear of the wall sections are just plain plaster so I marked out and scored blockwork on them then added some plaster to give the rear a rendered look. The smaller section was then attacked and chewed up. The base then got a coat of plaster then when it was almost set sand was spread over it and pressed in with a finger. Finally today I've added some rubble using Red Zebra stuff again before fixing it all down with some VMS sand & ballast freeze.
Ta chaps, not much to report today just another dose of sand & gravel freeze, just in case. And the wall sections glued on and the figure primed. With the model on the base I can see I have plenty of space to junk up the groundwork with plenty of litter & crap and add some nice bits to the rear of the wall as well. Oh and I will try and remember to do an SBS on the figure painting as well!
What a fantastic looking vehicle! Can't wait to see the figure and base as well.
