The "L" beam finally arrived yesterday so I started knocking up a side stowage rack. The stuff I used was from a firm called Maquett, never used it but thought plastic is plastic, WRONG! This stuff is impervious to tamiya extra thin cement, it just would not glue together. I tried tamiya quick type which did hold the parts together but with the slightest bit of handling it all came apart. So next I tried VMS cement which again had no effect. In the end I used quick set glue, super glue and finally some mr dissolved putty on the joins. This worked finally but it was still quite fragile. I suspect something like plastic weld may have been better but as I didn't have any I was a bit stuffed. So after much swearing I finally got the bugger on the model. Also test fitted the milan stowage box on the other side. That's the stowage done now so I better steal myself for some figure sculpting next.

Looks darned good Pete . As for profile stuff I always use Evergreen or Plastruct, you can't go wrong with those

Well, that plastic is distributed by Albion Alloys. I guess they mixed a little metal inside it making it hard to glue. Like Paul, I only use the Evergreen or Plastruct. Despite the issues, the model is looking exceptional.

Wow . Didn't realize you sculpting from scratch fella yes mate as there is nothing suitable, I know dragon do a set of desert rats with the noddy suits on but they have webbing etc over the top so I had to have a bash myself.

And there was me thinking you had to use a large piece of masking tape to hold the bin whilst the glue worked its magic, or not as the case maybe.
Then the next suprise! No suitable figures available, looks like I might have to sculpt my own, some people can put you orff you know...
