Mack here's a couple of pics of my M1 from ages ago. This is from Tamiya, and there should be a grill in that area, so I'd be careful not to add a too thick slice of card.

Not a fan of that type of suspension on models myself, I always end up gluing for a better fit.

Man, I feel your pain over those torsion bars. I hate having to glue them in place; they never line up properly! It takes forever to get anything lined up correctly.

If anyone has built an M1 if a covered this with plastic card instead of PE would it stand out.? Mack, I built two RFM's M1A1. You'll need to use both, plastic and PE. Look: In this case, I used an optional plastic part because the "Bad Blessing" tank has the early grill type. Hope it helps.

We do what we can do! Ask every time you want, if I can help, I'll and everybody here too! Great build, BTW. I love this "crab like" ABV.

Back on the bench with this one tonight. Four pieces of PE, enough to do my nut in. I'll be on with the lane marker rockets tomorrow. That piece I was trying to sort won't be seen so I just glues in the plastic bit and forgot about it. Cheers for looking in peeps

Paul, trudat matey.
Smudge, I rarely paint the bottom of my tanks so butting detail on that ain't seen seems a total waste of effort and time.
A mate of mine has just done a full interior then closed it up. He needs help🙄
