Well done Vlad! You've gotten past the hardest part of this build so far. There will be a few more issues, but this is looking great already. A few months back, I built this model along with six other MAZ and KZKT trucks, so I'm very familiar with what you're going through. I don't know if the pics will show, but if they do, you can see my progress on this and the other trucks in my thread.
I'll be following along and enjoying the memories.

Cheers chap, good to see some new faces along, and thank you all for the support apologies too for the delay in updating, still snowed under with commissions at present so painting figures has taken priority! Duke I will take a look at your thread, the complexity of build doesn't phase me in the slightest, its a shame to see all that detail disappear ......... but I ashould be used to that feeling with all the interior kits i decide to build *update* With a long weekend that seemed to include chocolate I have managed to hammer through the majority of the build!!! First up was the finishing of the chassis, this included suspension arms, steering arms and hubs, finishing with some skid plates! the only way is up from here! Next was sorting the main upper frame, this holds the feet and storage boxes to the rear, these were a pain in the proverbial due to much filling and truing of the shame required, still a little wonky but not as bad as they were so will deem them passable, first of the PE makes an appearance! I'm guessing this is the office for firing the weapon? the storage boxes are for mounting on the rear, needed a LOT of work to tidy up. Then I attacked the cab, all very straight forward, the steering column is meant to fit into a hole on the cab floor but someone got their measurements wrong, twas like a skinny arm in a wizards sleeve, so filled the hole and mounted the column directly to the floor! With all of that falling by the wayside, my attention turned to the main event, the gun turret!! all pretty straight forward! just don't breath on the PE, no attachment points!! And here we have the sub-assemblies thrown together to see what she looks like! Looking good!!!! she is now ready for paint!! and then all the elements can be brought together for a final fix! Overall a lot of fun, but engineering is way behind, soooooo much sanding needed!

You may have been sanding away, it was certainly worth the extra work. It looks fantastic.

That looks magnificent Vlad! Now that you are at the turret, you'll need to trim the P/E walkway on the front by at least 1/4" on each side. Otherwise, the P/E snags the control van box and the turret won't turn. It's certainly far easier than trying to move the whole turret ring backwards.
Looking forward to seeing more.

Paul, Guy, your both too kind ..... but thankee Duke cheers fella! but I must address your suggestion of clipping the etch, the easier route is to sand this edge here and slide the office forward a touch. But your right in mentioning... the dimensions are all over the place! hopefully the Hobbyboss version will be a big improvement over this one, but that aside it does look like what it oughta!

I hadn't thought of that Vlad. Then again, I had already had everything built before I could figure that out. Looking forward to seeing how this works.

Thanks very much for the kind words chaps! I've been working on a commission of 6mm napoleonic figures so its not left a lot of peeper use of late. But with that said I has made progress!! Primer went on!! Then it dawned on me that I had had a senior moment!! the hydraulic stabilisers need repositioning if in the firing mode, so I found some appropriate plastic and fashioned some new rods, these will be fitted in place when the wheels are on and I have a height to get everything jusht right! Then out came the green!! apparently these vehicles are only used by the navy, not exported etc so this limits the schemes somewhat. A basic colour was added to the cab, just need to tidy the blue a little, not that it will be seen anyhoo!!! Looking mean in green!!!!! And whilst the green was in the pot, I decided to give this one a fresh coat of paint as I wasn't happy with the original application. We are getting there, slowly but surely..... ...... I might even finish something

Wow, I didn't know you were doing the Baikal either! Nice work! Having built seven different 8-wheeled Russian trucks, I can feel what you've been going through. You've done far better than I have; your cab interior is so much more clean and crisp than I did. Way to go Vlad!
