Go for it Robbo! Hornet heads - and in fact any decent resin heads will work. The Red Zebra ones are a decent alternative in my experience.

A question for those more versed in figure painting.... Any advice on painting African skin tones?
I'm working on one from the Masterbox"Charlie on the left... " set. I'm happy with the base cour - I'm using Vallejo game air Dark flesh tone. It's the shadows and highlights I'm not sure about. Adding in white/black doesnt sem to do it.

Paul, try using shades of tan. After all a black friend of mine always says: "I'm not black! I'm golden brown with a touch of tan!"
I think darkening the tan a bit, or dry brushing on a weakened/diluted tan will help with the highlights.
