Hi guys i intend to build Trumpy's Sturer Emil. I wanted to ask if anyone has a profile of this vehicle in a paint scheme other than plain grey. I've searched the web but didn't find any. I hope to start this one soon.

John that is lovely kit, and a good build indeed . I know, I built it many years ago . As for the colouring, well you're going to have to stick to German Grey I'm afraid, that is the only colour these were painted in

Just had a look around the net, I think I have found something that might contradict the info from 2012. The barrel on this pic is defo dunkelgelb with stripes, now if the stripes are something different to dark grey..... who knows. On this picture, which looks like the captured one which now stands in Kubinka, could be some sort of camo. This could be just just mud.... but also even dunkelgelb

Great thread to follow so count me in please. It already starts with an interesting question "to camo or not to camo ?" I read two were built and they served at the Russian front. One was captured in Stalingrad with -and this might be interesting for your model- 31 kill marks on the barrel. I I were you I play it safe with german grey in a colour modulation style to avoid a boring look. Anyways chap, have fun !

Paul's first image shows 31 kill marks on the barrel so it must be the one captured in Stalingrad. I'd go for a grey one with camo'd barrel and the kill marks, why the heck not ? Have fun !

I know for a fact that there was that the second one, that wasn't captured, was painted but i can't find a colour profile. Regarding the first pic, there is a debate if it was dunkelgelb over grey or red brown and dark green over dunkelgelb. That's why i am asking for help.... The second one shows the captured one, with the whitewash almost gone.

I agree that it is a nice canvas for modulation but it is something that i have done a lot of times in the past and would like to do something different. If i can't find the info i want, i think that the grey is an one way road....

If you want to go for accuracy I think you'll be hard pushed for anything but overall grey. Personally if something else took my fancy I'd go for anything that is a plausible what-if.

Thought you'd find it interesting :-) Although hard to tell, I think there's some variation on the colours on photo 3 & 4, although may be wear and tear, mud etc

I had no idea this was an actual vehicle. Had it in my head it was a "Paper Panzer". Great project!
