Well then, had one of those productive days today. Main colours are on and she looks like this now. Work to do on the underside leading edges and a few tidy ups from overspray but all in all I am pleased with where I am with this. When the stripes go on everything will pull together. Currently mulling over the idea of spraying the stripes but will wait and see. If I go the decal route and fudge it up then I will have to spray........... More soon, Tim

Looking very nice and personally I’d go for getting the AB out again for the stripes as in this size they just look so much better.

That's a beautiful looking, Hunter. Great application regarding the aluminum undersides, too!

Thanks all for the comments. Well I picked up the gauntlet so to speak and sprayed the yellow and black ID stripes. Wings done top and bottom fuselage to go. Hope I can do better with the fuselage! First picture I have placed the kit decals on top of my work for comparison. Not bad even if I say so myself. Next up as sprayed top and bottom. As can be seen, much bleeding and overspray, but I can deal with that with a hairy stick as I took the precaution of saving any unused paint so matching should not be a problem. Close up of the worst section on the upper wing. As the paint was well thinned it was only a light bleed which must have sealed the gaps otherwise the colour would be stronger and harder to cover. When I applied the masking for the black stripes I possibly should have given it a shot of black. Lesson learned for the fuselage. Garden and grass beckon and family meet up (@ a sociable distance) in the park so more as and when. Tim

A bit more effort than using the decals but one I think is worthwhile looking at all the panel details.

It is trickier to do than using decals, but it does pay of for sure. What ever you do always give the masked area a coat of the base colour, or even matt, this stops the bleeding and also the cursing afterwards

Nice bit of work on the strips, I'm sure it will touch up easily as well.

A fine looking Hunter, thus far. Shouldn't be that big of a deal to get those stripes touched up.

Bit of a touch up and the fuselage section done........ Not the best job in the world, but great practice and at least presentable. Could of been a complete disaster I guess. Tim

Thanks one and all, was worth the effort no doubt. Just need to learn from some of the problems. Under carriage now on and..... not a tail sitter "Klear" coat soon and then the decals. Quite busy tomorrow and back to work Wednesday so more as and when. Tim

Today I spent some time marking in panel lines etc and then applied a coat of "Klear". Once this was dry I started the decals. So far 24 applied and you can only see 2! Some are so small you wonder why they bother, but to be fair once applied they do add a lot and the time will be worth it. More as and when. Tim
