This one was started some time in the very dim and distant pass. However, I was never happy with it and it got hidden at the back of the storage cupboard. Time to resurect it. Did some surgery on the right hand so that the flintlock can be held as per the picture on the box. I think this was one of the things that bugged me back then, but all is well now. Stripped and re-primed, so now I have something else on the go to fill those quiet moments on other builds. More clean up on the right hand required. More soon. Tim

Welcome Ian, and yes a nice clean crisp casting. Been working on the "poshteen" colours used are Yellow Ochre for the base plus Light Flesh for the highs and US Tan-Earth for the lows. Filigre work on the coat is Burnt Umber. The fur will be black\brown when I get to it. As ever ACW and more as and when. Tim

Thanks Paul, appreciated. Pictures were a little on the dark side, so a couple in better light.
ACW.

I've now blocked in the rest of the colours and quite like where it's headed. However, one small thing is nagging at me and your views would be appreciated. I have gone with blue for the head wrap\scarf but am now wondering if green might be better. I have a rather nice green that I have used on French Dragoon uniforms and Rifleman jackets and am wondering if this would be a better contrast\match. Tim

Ok, an unfair question so.... Still undecided. Picture 1 favours blue but 2, for me, says green. Tim

Hard to tell fella, I like the blue. But it might be tad too much colour if know what I mean.

Paul,
I know what you mean and I also think the green will give a nicer contrast with the gilt chinstrap scales. All tending towards the green now in my head.

Gents, thanks for the comments, however this one has hit the buffers for me yet again.
Not sure what it is, but it certainly don't want to play ball. So back in the box awaiting a strip and re-start once again!
Next time I will try to lay down the main colours with the AB and see if I can get a better basic starting point. If not then this could be consigned to the bin as one that never quite did it for me

Maybe you should have gone for the blue . I hope it does come back out at some point, you're good with figures and it'd be a shame to bin it .
