Good to see you here Wouts . This isn't the first one I have done, many, many years ago I tackled the DML kit . That looked like a Jagdtiger but only just, this Takom version seems to be darned accurate . By the way, I shall be making the late version, that means no zimmerit .

Swing arms on, rear plate on, engine grilles blocked in and blackened, rear casematt cover on. The barrel is a two piece affair, can't understand that is this age. It's going to need some more sanding to remove the stupid seam, I'll probably do that at work . The upper and lower hull are only dry fitted at the moment . I know it's still early days, but I am really looking forward to painting this beast. I can see a faded Dunkelgelb with Resedagrün and Schokoladen braun camo .

Paul, don't think you picked a big enough tank! Looking forward to this; basically a naval gun in a bunker on tracks.😂😂

That looks damn good already, has the upper hull got any surface texture?

Ian, that is the best description I have ever heard . Pete, yes it does have a subtle texture and some pitting too

Ian H, Ian R, Steve, Mence, Marco, cheers chaps and nice to have thee all along for the ride . Today, I'm afraid, has lots of swearing and cursing going on . I'm digusted with Takom, they have screwed up the frontal armour of the casematt . I'm really glad I tried a dry fit now and not when the hull parts are glued together. I cannot get the front part to fit, it's gonna need a lot of heavy sanding and a some cutting too . Will be back with pics when I have beaten it into submission.

Sounds like Takom have dropped the ball there and having a quick Google the mating of lower joins needs work.
I'm actually surprised that they managed to let this through as it doesn't take much to tarnish a reputation of we make good engineering quality kits.

Marco, I do believe Takom have some good kits. The Faun L900, AML 90, Panzerjäger Borgward IV "Wanze", Flakpanther were okay. I know the Chieftain SPAAG and the Mk10 have some issues, but hey they shouldn't be too difficult sort Wouts, I reckon I have it on the run now . Jase, that's what I worked I yesterday too, also it's better to remove a tad from the rear cover of the driver/co-driver area. The worst thing is, if you look at the Takom F.B. page, nobody mentions this issue. In fact it'S the opposite, everybody praises the kit as if it was some kind of godsend . I should have this sorted by tomorrow, so more info then.

Bummer mate and I'm suprised with the issue you have. Perhaps it's a case of producing a model from CAD without final quality checks or actually building it? Personally I've had no issues with Takom up to now, the chieftains and marksman went together pretty well and the 432's where no bother. I guess every manufacturer occasionally lets a lemon slip through.
