Sorry to hear about the issue with the hull, Paul. It seems like we have all hit some stumbling blocks on these new pieces of armor from various companies, i.e. Takom and HobbyBoss. (like wheels on an Olifant perhaps?)
Regards,
Ian

Cheers Ian . At least the wheels can be covered in mud . This will take some tricky reworking to get the cut edges and welds to match up. Why did they screw up such a prominant feature being on the top front

Okay chaps it appears that I have won this fight . Here are the promised pics of the problem and how I solved it. The fight begins No matter how hard you try to twist and force the front armour into place, it just will not go in. I think I removed about 0.5mm of plastic from these areas on both sides. You then end up with this . I added the scars from the torch cutting that Takom had missed, and also the welds needed re-making as the Takom welds are sunken, they shoould level if not just higher than the armour Dry fit, I still need to add some stuff from the inside . More soon chaps

Looks great Paul and nice job getting that part on. That weld joint looked like a hot mess as far as fit goes.

Looks like a right pain in the backside Paul but nothing a man of your experience couldn’t kick into shape, and you did

I think the need to adjust the fit was a fortunate thing mate cos those weld beads and torch cuts now look awesome!

Chaps I thank you all kindly . Here's where she is now, the upper hull and mantlet cover are dry fit still, but they do line up nicely. I also added 16 new little tie downs around the casematt, the molded on things just didn't do it for me . On to the running gear next then .

Looks great, Paul. Is this the version that offers both types of suspension?

Hi Paul,
A very nice apartment block you are building there!! 😂😂
I can bet that fixing the front plate issues led to a relapse back into god give me alcohol now!! 🤪🤪, are you building her to a generic beast or a specific beauty?

Mike, cheers fella and nice to see you dropping in again . I certainly am not going for a specific vehicle, that is something I try to avoid , just too much pressure when somebody says "that bolt head should be missing from the third inner road wheel, and the curve on the frontal green camo stripe should be flatter" . Marco, cheers indeed my Brazilian bro . Ian, I am not so sure that all these rumors about this vehicle being cumbersome, slow moving, and generally unreliable are true. I found some footage which certainly says to me, these were swiftish monsters and not to get in the way of . Today I started on the wheelage, bloody loads of 'em . They are now ready for painting and then onto the tracks. The tracks by the way look like they are going to need lots of attention .
