Those new tie downs look good mate, a nice improvement. Cool start on the running gear too!
And I have to say though, that the JagdTiger weren't that great. With a lot of extra weight the engines and final gears were immensely overstressed. Combine that in general with young, inexperienced crew and you have a nice cocktail. If I remember correctly Otto Carius wasn't too happy with them either.
Cheers

Cheers Wouts . Even if these monsters weren't that reliable, they are certainly something I wouldn't like to meet in a Sherman or anything for that matter . The running gear is on , but whatever you do don't use the jig for the tracks . On the jig the idler and sprocket are such a tight fit, that you will end up snapping the shaped glued tracks. Also, you'll have fun trying to get the lead road wheel in place once the tracks have set. Apart from that they do look quite good, so there is no real need for an AM set. You can see a jar of Mission Models Dunkelgelb holding the tank up, this is going to be used for the whole vehicle as it has that late war look to it . Certainly saves me mixing Tamiya paints up .

Of course, having only two prototype hulls didn't really help a lot though lol Good to see the running gear in place. And still need to try out those MM paints, I hear a lot of good stuff about them! Cheers

The MM acrylics are bloody good, just have to be careful when adding thinner. They only need a drop or two otherwise they become too thin .

Taking shape nicely now Paul I thought these new vendors had the fit issues bottomed out but obviously not from the problems you’ve found

Joe, Boots, Ian, Marco, Steve, cheers chapsies . Steve they certainly have not got it sorted . To date I have only found one other modeller who has actually mentioned this fail. On FB all say what a wonderful kit it is and how happy they are about Takom giving us a Holy Grail of a kit. Although, if you look at their finished builds, all have gaps on the lower mantlet area. They haven't even tried to hide the fact.... idiots.

Nice work on the running gear old chap, must get some of that MM Dunkelgleb myself I think. I'm getting more of those paints too.

Yes, Mission Model Paints are fantastic. They also defy the laws of physics because the stuff pours like molasses but yet only one or two drops of water is needed and it sprays beautifully.

I’ve heard good things about them but I made the choice several years ago just to stick with Tamiya as the work for me. They also have the advantage that if I need a colour they’re available with just a ten minute drive.

Way to stick with it, Paul. This is coming along nicely. I'm not really sure about al the talk concerning the size of this thing. The one I'm putting together isn't all that massive...................
