Thanks, Steve. Hasegawa missed a few of the S-model mods, this being one of them. Amazingly enough Eagle Strike mentions it on the decal sheet and I am using Volume 20, International Air Power Review, as a reference because it has great article in it about the Italian F-104s.

I have a small update on the F-104S as I have gotten the Tamiya Primer applied. There are are just a few areas to sand and clean up and then it will be ready for some Italian Air Force Sky Grey. I got the primer on the resin underwing tanks from CMK and those look really good with some paint on them. There was very little clean-up to do and hats off to CMK for a really nicely molded product. Stay tuned...... Ian

Boots, Paul, Joe, Steve and Guy (and Mary Ellen and Jim Bob and Elizabeth and John Boy.............. ): Thanks for the kind words, all! Wait, there's rivets missing? ?? I applied the top coat over the primer and the later Italian F-104s are painted just one shade of grey. I used Life Color Italian Air Force Sky Grey as they are one of the few companies that makes the shade seen on the Italian -104s (Tornados also). The Sky Grey laid down perfectly over the Tamiya Primer. It appears the Italian -104s had more grime and streaks rather than fading so I will lighten just a few panels and then do some work with oils for the dirt, leaks and grime. The tanks will be painted in RLM71 Green over aluminum as the Sky Grey airframes frequently used tanks from the camo F-104s. Regards, Ian
