I have an update for the F-104S as I got the decals on. Even though they were 20 years old, the Eagle Strike decals laid down with no issues after setting solution. The decals depict an
F-104S from the 18th Gruppo, 37th Stormo with the famous stork squadron marking on the tail. I also got the gear bay doors on and I got the tip tanks installed as well. The resin underwing tanks are extremely heavy so I will have to use metal pins to get those mounted but will have to be careful as the wings are so thin.

Update on the F-104S as I got the underwing tanks installed. The 99% Rule of Modeling almost got me here; that being the last 1% of the build can ruin the whole project. Had a horrible time getting the underwing tanks mounted. The resin pylon is very thin, the wing is also thin and the resin tanks are extremely heavy so it made joining them to the wing very difficult. The tanks were so heavy they were hard to keep stable so the CA glue could grab. Finally got them secured and just to add a measure of tensile strength to the pylons, I caulked the pylon joint with some Contractors Glue which dries clear and is very tough. I went over the joint with a wet Q-TIP to clear off the excess. The model was given a flat coat of Vallejo Matt Varnish and I rounded that out with some splotches of Vallejo Matt Varnish lightened with a drop of Vallejo Winter White to lighten and fade the finish. I got the bang seat installed and added worn metal to the canopy rails and also dry brushed the interior. I will give the pylon joints one last go with Matt Varnish and then I will finish her off with the glass and nav light installation.
