While I was rummaging in the attic for some bits to help me finish my Carl Memorial build, I rediscovered this-Italeri MIG37 Stealth, in the bottom of a box so I thought "sod it, let's...", a change of pace would be fun" Got this far and then noticed š³no canopy, so it's gonna be a crashed one in some sort of Sci-Fi/Star Warsy/ Starship trooper kind of idea maybe even with a bug...

Very nice, Paul. I remember that kit! Thought it looked really good and a great hypothetical.

Construction just about complete. 1st primer coat applied to see where the gaps were and liquid putty applied as necessary. Leaving it all go hard and base coat tomorrow. Still undecided on colour though.

Insignia white base coat and then Vallejo Medium yellow. Chipping achieved with Maskol. Need to seal it now for decals and a bit of "weathering"

I also have the F-19 Stealth from the same era. Much prefer the look of this one though.

Update time: A nice blue brown all over wash for that more lived in feel Then nightmare... Dropped the canopy and promptly rolled chair over it... So going for a heavy landing and having another go at some water effects

Bloody annoying about the canopy, but the crashed landing is a good save Paul

I started on my next attempt at a resin pour yesterday. Fingers crossed. Im using a Woodland Scenics ready mixed water thingy, so no measuring of components to get wrong. With a 3 mm MAX pour with 24 hour curing/hardening period, even with the relatively shallow depth I've got to the river (max 15 mm in a couple of spots- its not consistent throughout) its going to take the best part of a week to get this to a place I have in mind. At least the weather has cooled a bit so I shouldn't have any issues with accelerated drying. Now lets just hope I've sealed it all well enough. No pics for now - I havent even looked myself once I poured and covered.

OK... A bit of an OUCH here.š Clearly I didn't seal the base of the river as well as I thought/should have so some leakage of the first pour THROUGH the Styrofoam. The upper (dio) surface now seems to be solid enough, so I'm hoping that will act as a seal for subsequent pours. But going to give it extra curing time to be safe, so I'll hold off on any pics until I've got something useful to show.
