Cheers chaps and i thought you would probably ask.....so here goes! It`s not the kit (although it does have it`s moments but nothing untowards).......it`s just simply me! I`ve had some mojo losses on many occasions but none that have made me want to sweep my arm across the bench and sweep everything into a large container with the little voice on my left shoulder saying....no more!! I`m not the fastest builder as we all well know so by the time i get to the end of the build i`m sick to death of it...........my own fault entirely. I do tend to add a lot of detail purely to add somat to the build and thats where i start to wain a bit...the Sherman(sandbag city) and the LRDG truck were a task in themselves towards the end and i feel it`s just burnt me out so to speak. At the mo i`m in deep `thunkin` mode as to how to resolve this.......do i stick....or do i twist so to speak!!, i know some would probably say try another genre, era, theatre etc as a change or somat quick and easy but what.........i just don`t know!......nothing appeals!......as for takin` time out.....i might not start again!.............bit of a tricky loss this one

Boots, go do some carp fishing and maybe a spot of mine sweeping with that metal detector of yours . I know you stick a huge amount of effort into your builds, and that is for sure sucking the mojo out of yaz. Take some time off ole chap, doesn't have to be long, just a while doing other things. And remember, On-Track is in Feb next year, when we get together again I bet you'll catch the bug again and start building things with a huge vengeance

Boots, I don't know what a can say. Sometimes I feel the same about add details and more details that, sometimes, you even can't see. I'm feeling exactly that on my MaxxPro. The interior, plenty of cables and crew gear... Is everything really necessary? I don't know. I have 3 or 4 models started and back to the shelf.
I think the other problem is the pandemia. I ordered some stuff from Europe and even from Brazil and the boxes simply don't hit the front door. It's devastating me (sounds a bit idiot doesn't it?) But all of this will gone sooner or later and we'll laugh about it in the future.
Hold on mate, we are here to chat every time you want.
Be safe old fruit!

Hiya Boots buddy, I think we’re our own worst enemy sometimes. I know I feel a fraud with my very slow build rate and average results compared to the other work on show here. It’s taken me a while to accept that it’s okay and no one here has ever done anything other than offered encouragement. Your builds are involved and many layered which must take so much patience let alone skill , it’s no wonder you need a breath buddy. Take it as it comes my friend

It's a tough one for sure Boots old chap. Having suffered recently myself from a total lack of interest in modelling. Just doing something else helped, I did go fishing a lot, and when I did get a bit of interest back I found it was spiked by WW2 stuff & not my normal fare. I'm still not back at my former level of building but that's fine by me. I'm just plodding along and doing some work as and when I feel like it which I think for me is the key at the moment. Sometimes I think we all get caught up with building and perhaps feel we should be more prolific than we are or want to be. So when the urge goes it can be troubling, however perhaps the thing to do is embrace that and accept that interests do change. Hopefully something will grip your imagination at some point but until it does don't look at a loss of mojo as a failing but rather see it as an adjustment or period of rest to reset the old mind.

Guess that happens to everyone one day. Generally I don't have that issue because I tend to switch between builds (I'm a very slow builder too, you know that ). The backdraw of that is that you end up with lots of shelf queens, but it keeps me fresh. I can tell you this: try something new, I ventured into the world of Gunpla (Gundam plastic model kits) and it opened up a whole new world. The kits are well engineered (bit like tamiya fall together ones) and build quite fast. Anyway, cheer up bud ^^ Cheers

Steve, Pete and Wout`s.........thanks very much fellas, some good sound advice there...........most of my builds are nearly always armour/softskin related etc and the idea of a whole new venture may be a solution.........i have looked at the Gundam and Mak stuff before but the prices and availability put me off........i even fancy the `Ramora` steampunk boat but even for it`s age it`s still ridiculous money. Another choice is to go with a `no rules needed` type of build........doesn`t need to be judged as right or wrong and a huuuuuge dollop of `artistic licence` can be gracefully draped over the top Who knows..........at least i`m still talking about it

Boots, I've been there too. I wouldn't worry about the future; one never knows what will happen then. You may feel that if you walk away, you'll never come back. You don't know that so take the time to refresh your mind. Stop in onc3e in a while to offer encouragement to others and to keep in touch but don't worry about this mojo loss. I for one am always astounded at how you can take a finished model and make it even better with the added details. Still, that being said; I usually look at my models and say "Will it really be seen? Is it worth the extra time and effort to add this? No?" then I just move on. It tales an effort sometimes, but practice makes perfect. And I get to add more finished models to the shelves that way and get more started....
Bottom line, do what you gotta do for your happiness and peace of mind. It's only a hobby man.
