Hi all, As I’ve not been taking progress picture of my most recent builds , I thought I’d share something I built and blogged earlier this year....Hope this is ok? This is the kit...
This is actually an old Dragon kit dating back to 2004 that Zvezda managed to get hold of. These where cheap as chips when zvezda released back In 2015. Here’s some sprue shots...

The tracks on this thing are neither the best or the worst I have seen, but I had no intention of buying Am stuff. loads of Ejector marks to clean up...

Looks fine to me Si . I don't remember the Dragon tracks being as bad as that years ago, what the hell have Zvezda done with them?

The other side got the same treatment....
Made lifting lugs up for the exhaust shrouds from plastic card and rod. ( I later cut these down as they where too long )
Then it was a case of the detail improvements. PE tool clasps, wiring for headlight and replacing the hatch handles with copper wire...
Detailing continued with some scratch built recovery cable mounts and side track guard mounts improved....
Had a go at making the tensioner for the recovery cables...came out quite well.
Added the tiny locking pin for the track guard
All these details where missing completely from the kit so definitely an improvement.....I Hope!

And with that the Build part is done. Then onto paint.... The kit got a blast with some Mr Surface primer (I was building a Tiger 1 at the same time)
The tracks where given my trusty track mix...
Wheels, return rollers and sprocket coloured in....
This was the scheme I was aiming at....
Then she had a base of dunkle gelb applied
And the Tiger 1 got a priming too 😊

That’s as far as I got with it as I was making a base. Hopefully once I get around to making a base I’ll finish the paint and weathering.
thanks for looking cheers Si

What a gorgeous Tiger II. Beautiful construction and finish. I always loved the ones that had the blue ID numbers over the three-tone camo.

I used a combination of pigments and AK enamel mud products. I couldn’t tell you which as I tend to mix stuff about 🤔

Thanks very much guys...🍺. This was the inspiration for my build... I started to put the building together and was even casting roof tiles but got bored with it .....maybe another time 🤔
