Your P-40 is coming along nicely. Well done Si.
I have a Squadron signal P-40 in action book somewhere. I'll see if it sheds any light on your antenna and let you know.

I think this shows what you want to know Si. There were no clear photographs in book, only these drawings. Hope this helps. Joe.

Si, very likely that P-40 would have had the wing-tip to tail rigging antenna. It is barely discernible in the photo of this crashed AVG P-40. Also, good call on continuing the camo pattern underneath the windows behind the seat. Alot of P-40 modelers make the mistake of painting those areas Interior Green (myself included), when in fact the windows were just popped off and the exterior color just continued underneath. Beautiful P-40, once again. Regards, Ian PHOTO IS FOR ILLUSTRATIVE PURPOSES ONLY

Regards, Ian PHOTO IS FOR ILLUSTRATIVE PURPOSES ONLY Cheers Ian, I’ll have to confess I didn’t have a clue about the camo....blind luck I guess Thanks to yourself and Joe, I can see where the antenna needs to be positioned now, cheers guys. Any idea how the wires where attached to the wing/tail though? Where they fixed to an eye of some sort or did they run into a hole in the wing/tail? What I don’t want to do is just glue the antenna to a nub coz it will look pants, if you see what I mean?

Si, the nub on the wing is the attachment point, as you pointed out. I would drill a small hole at an angle next to the nub and attach the wire. For the tail, it appears in the picture the wires from the wings attach to another wire/post that protrudes from the front of the tail, parallel with the horizontal stabs. You could probably replicate that with a piece of wire and attach your wing antennae to that.
Regards,
Ian

I Couldn’t resist one last look and followed a lead and eventually found some close up pics of the attachments....
I’m still amazed at all the info available to us from the internet....blows my melon man 🤯🤣 now to see if it’s possible at this scale 🤔 Meanwhile In other news, Some small progress on the Hummel... The bike had to be repaired when it became involved in an accident. Lost the seat, destroyed the handle bars....I fear alcohol was involved 🤣🤣. So the bike has been, repaired and painted, yet to be weathered.
I couldn’t bare to see the barrel balancing delicately on the fender so devised a securing method. made the wire cable and an S hook and welded an eye on the front deck. Going to knock up some ammo/supply boxes to fill it out the front some more.
And couldn’t be without the ubiquitous bucket hung from the rear also hanging from a slightly smaller s bracket. Thanks again for the help. all comments welcome good or bad cheers Si

Never attempt to ride a bike when under the influence, specially not a 1/72 bike The P40 is going to be awesome when all that detail is in place . The Hummel just blows me away every time I see it, to me it's like looking at a 1/35 kit

The P40 will look superb I'm sure. The Hummel is a stunner of a gunner already, and that microscopic bike... I bow humbly.

Looking good Si. Alcohol can be a problem. I find it worse when I drink on an empty head.

Evening chaps, Found a box of nearly completed stuff while looking for the Opel blitz I built a while back. The blitz is a Tamiya kit, the PzII Ausf J is Hobby boss and the Kubel is from Hero hobby. “
I built these to populate a dio but it all went a bit pear shaped and was abandoned. I’ll have to get them weathered at some point.
