Hello Gents,
Well I see Professor Badman is off with a hiss & a roar with a gizillion part this, and a workable suspension that, the gauntlet is well & truelly thrown down I can see...lucky I don't live in Vichy or else the white flag would be getting dragged out of the garlic cellar!!
So far I have just started cleaning up & dry fitting / testing some of the resin parts, so this is how it will hopefully start to look

LMAO Mike . I can't see the point in the working suspension . The tracks need gluing together, and I don't think the sussys could carry the weight of Friuls, so it is all just a waist of time. Looks like you a couple parts there yourself fella, and those in resin too, that stuff scares the sugar outta me so I hope all goes well for ya . The innards look grand in there already and with a spot of paint, they'll certainly pop into life

Duke, if that is what the Dora is like in 1/72, then I think I shall pass on that . Cheers mucker Boots, I see you have got this sussed out , shame I don't need the turret . Actually, the Dora had eight times the number of sprues you've shown. Plus three sheets of P/E. Yeah, I don't blame you for passing on that.
Tanksami, your interior is looking fantastic. Like someone said; paint will bring that to life well. Keep them coming lads!

Ian, naughty step with warm beer now . Pete, lets wait and see how this develops . Okay sirs, to start with the lower hull plate was/is warped to feck . But I have sorted it out to a workable state using the side parts and some struts to push it all straightish. The next slightly offset section, the upper hull plate, is also just a tad on the wonky side . I'm going to clamp this down and steam the bugger, after that it'll get a good gluing and clamping to the hull top. Just hope it goes well, if not the brick of doom might make an appearance and an order for a new kit will be placed. This time though from Tamiya.

Chaps, Mike, I'm afraid I have put this back in the box . The warping is just too feckin much to repair. I have sent an email to Miniart with pics of the crap molding of this kit to see what they say about it. If no positive answer is back by next Friday, then I'll get a Tamiya T55 and continue the dual with that. Sorry for this dudes, but there is just no way around this one.

Sorry to hear that Paul but well it is a Miniart kit. I still don’t understand why they don’t make the lower hull as a tub as otherwise there’s just too many things that can go wrong.

You be right there Jase. But even so, the T54-1 was the same set up and with that I had no issues at all. Anyway as I said, I am not backing down from the duel . I shall be back.........soon

Sorry to hear that, Paul. That hull warp is just horrible and that would be hard to fix with such thick plastic.

Perhaps it's just a bad batch? Not good though for you.

Jeepers Chrick that is one very well manufactured blown up hull top you have there Paul!!! It makes my resin bits look flat & true by comparison!!
If you wanted to wait I could send you a Tammy 55, with bits & references included, would probably take a month or so to get to you though?
No real updates from me atm, just been thinking of something else to do / add / remove from the one I am building.
Mike
