Here's a tad more on the plastic side , the breech needs some after work but that I reckoned with . At least the shield is nicely detailed and very scale thickness too

Marco, Boots, cheers chaps . Marco the barrel is very heavy and will hold in place with being glued , I will also need to make sure the connection to the tank is bloody good too. If not, I'll end up with a nose tipper

Paul that is a mighty looking muzzle you have there for sure!! And if it does go nose down, I have a photo of some T55βs unloading off train wagons that look like they are burrowing into the ground lol, if that help you decide how to model it!! Lol
And no new pics from me atm, I have been doing a little playing on it, using the less is more approach, I have done a bit more & looks like no progress at all!! π€¦ββοΈππππ

That's fine Mike, I just spent this evening getting gun attached to the breach and recoil . Dunno what kit the RB barrel is made for, but it isn't the Trumpeter field gun version. I had to file and drill the plastic parts till it fit, still now it's in place it doesn't look to bad . I have also added some white stuff to the breach end, more to come later

Chaps today I started work on the pedestal for the gun . Getting the mounting discs sorted was no problem, but I couldn't be arsed to make a cylindrical form for the main body . So I sat there for an hour posing over what I could use, but nothing came to mind. Then I saw an old Tamiya 200 liter fuel drum lurking in the corner of my bench, problem solved . Cut down and sanded it's bloody perfick . The bolt heads are from Meng, that bolt set is worth every penny and more. You don't only get the heads, but you also get the corresponding thread with tightening nut .

Unbelievable 200L drum move Paul, what a lucky shot it fits perfect. The added detail looks crisp like something ovenbaked crispy.

Top work bud........as for the cylindrical part.....similar prob when i did the forecastle gun pit on the `Schnell`.........saved by a lid , the drum has worked out perfeckly matey and great modelling initiative ta boot
I agree on the Meng nuts/bolts sets.....i`ve got a few packs of varying sizes and they look the nuts when painted/weathered etc
