Here's my entry for the GB, Meng's rather spiffing rolls royce armoured car. I'll be making the version seen during the early stages of the desert campaign in WW2 so it will be in the caunter scheme which I'm dead excited about!
Thanks chaps, started last night and already I have a rolling chassis. I've now started on the main body which is going together very well. Adding some woodgrain to the rear section now with course files and scalpel.
Thanks fellas, well the model is building up rather swiftly so here's today's progress. A little bit of fettling was needed for the rear stowage boxes as they had some bad alignment issues so I sanded them back then added a lid etc from plastic. The rest of the kit fits pretty well, just quite a bit of flash to deal with but that's a minor issue. This kit is really ramping up the old mojo!
looking at the turret it suffers from some poor bolt detail around the joints of the armoured plate. Nothing I can't fix with new bolts later on though.
Thanks as ever chaps, well the build phase is now essentially finished now apart from adding new bolts to the turret. The only fiddly bits where the front headlights which had some very delicate mounts to clean up which was a challenge. A bit of lead wire was used for cabling to the lights as well. The turret builds up well and the weapons look very good indeed. A raid of the spares box found some flimsy cans and other bits & I made up a couple of racks for the flimsys using some plastic strip. So once the bolts arrive I'll finish up the turret and get on with some painting.
